Finding culturally competent healthcare has always been a challenge for my mom and I, but that changed when we started seeing Dr. AK at the diversity health clinic. As a French-speaking African woman herself, Dr. AK immediately understood our cultural background and was able to converse directly with my mom in French. This was such a relief compared to previous doctors, where I'd have to take time off work and school to interpret for my mom because of language barriers. Dr. AK took it upon herself to explain follow-up care to my mom in a way she truly comprehended. For me, even though I'm fluent in English, it's incredibly meaningful having a doctor who intrinsically gets my cultural context. I don't have to explain myself or my perspectives to Dr. AK which is so refreshing. Her warmth, empathy and intimate understanding of our culture made me feel seen and heard during my visit. If you're a French-speaking woman looking for a doctor who will provide culturally sensitive care and true representation, I can't recommend the remarkable Dr. AK enough. Finding her has been life-changing for my family's health.

Akukeng MbaCRNP was able to see me before my appointment. She is very knowledgeable, transparent, kind, and explains all the details. I was really impressed with her listening skills, as she had me to go over some things I mentioned. I forgot the nurse’s name for the clinic, but she is very knowledgeable, patient and very courteous. I enjoyed speaking with them.

Absolutely, hands down the best medical appointment I’ve ever had! To be listened to so carefully, to be believed and respected, to be put at ease even when the needle came out for the blood draw… made all the difference! I was seen by Abraham and AK. Both providers were caring, warm, professional and knowledgeable. They addressed every one of my concerns, devised treatment/follow up plans, gave great advice, and linked me with specialists and ordered additional tests elsewhere.

The staff and medical provider Mrs. Aku was very thorough left no step unturned and I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for medical assistance.
